Everyone is talking change these days. This fires me up because I’m all about specific and practical answers to life’s problems. Over the next seven days I’m going to suggest seven practical steps that will, without a doubt, Change Your Life! Get ready.
Step One: Acknowledge What Needs to Change
As Dr. Phil McGraw says, “You cannot change what you won’t acknowledge.” The first step to really having a changed life is to admit what needs to change. You must become sick of your current situation enough to really want to change. What is your threshold of pain for your current circumstance? So you’re overweight…how big are you going to get until you say ‘enough?’ Or if you are single, how many broken relationships are you going to go through until you recognize you need to honor God’s standards for Him to bless you? How many more times are you going to “screw up” until you finally make a decision to change. The first step in change is a full acknowledgement that you are hopeless without Christ. He is the answer to life change. This is the very essence of what it means to confess your sins.
