A Great Witness

Last night Jessica and I went to a special dinner celebrating a friend, Joe Adame. Joe is an outstanding business leader in our community, a great friend, and a person who shares the same passion I do for seeing our city grow. I just have to comment on what happened last night, because I was truly amazed. The Junior Achievement (sponsors of the event) made a video of Joe’s life, capturing pictures and testimonials of Joe’s company, family, and personal life. All of a sudden, in the middle of the video, the “voice over” began to openly discuss a life changing decision that changed Joe’s life, when he was born-again, into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Wow! Over 1,000 of Corpus Christi’s leaders openly heard of Joe’s walk with Christ, without apology. When Joe came to the platform he openly talked of his walk with God in a way that was not weird or “hyper-religious,” but rather very natural and authentic. Are you an open witness or a silent follower? Hats off to Joe Adame for being a true follower of Christ, one who is not ashamed to share his faith. Joe told me once at lunch with his sons (who are both as sharp as he is) that he wants to leave a legacy….Mr. Adame, you just did.

I am encouraged to know that we have leaders like Mr. Adame and Pastor Bil in our city.
